Behavioral Consult
Ricki London, L.C.S.W. will go to your child’s school and observe him/her during class periods as well as conduct 1-3 sessions in office. Ricki will then provide a written assessment of baseline behavioral performance and provide recommendations as to how to modify or change the environment, when necessary, and discuss behavioral modification plans and goals.
School Placement Consult
Ricki London, L.C.S.W. will meet with the parents first to discuss individual needs, goals and preferences. If there are previous psycho-educational evaluations, Ricki will review them with the parents and then meet individually with the child to assess educational needs and conduct a behavioral assessment. Ricki will then meet with the parents again to discuss appropriate school options and assist, as able, with the school referral.
When appropriate, Ricki will make site visits with parents to assist with assessing the most effective placement for the individual needs of each student.
Intensive Instruction
For those students who are struggling in school or in their professional lives, intensive instruction is the most effective method used to see substantial results in the shortest time frame. When referring to intensive instruction, we mean daily, Monday-Friday, for two to four hours per day.
Once you meet with the director, Ricki London, you and she will discuss the estimated number of hours to reach set goals. Keep in mind, the more hours per day (4) the quicker a person will feel the results and begin to show improvements.
During the school year, we offer 2, 3, or 4 hours per day.
During the summer months, we offer intensive only at 4 hours per day.
Evaluations
Ricki will conduct evaluations to assess the sensory cognitive functioning of each child. This evaluation is comprised of multiple, standardized sub tests, all utilized to provide information on the processing strengths and weaknesses of the student. The information attained will assist Ricki in determining the appropriate instruction needed and the estimated time frame to be recommended.
Alternative Methods of Experience
Climbing Wall-used to offer individuals the experience of challenge and the opportunity for success. Each time one climbs to a higher level, he/she will feel a sense of achievement and accomplishment.
Yoga- One on one yoga instruction is available for those individuals who would like the opportunity to learn how to self regulate and achieve a greater sense of peace.
